Course Description
Course “Basic principles of respiratory support. From Simple to Complex” is the first stage in the development of respiratory support methods in patients with respiratory failure.
The course will cover the following topics:
Physiology of respiration in the broad sense;
Pathophysiological aspects of the occurrence and manifestation of respiratory failure;
Methods of respiratory support from simple – O2 therapy to complex – the procedure of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation of blood (ECMO);
Students will get acquainted in detail with modern modes of artificial ventilation of the lungs (ventilator) – indications, principles of protective ventilation, methods of avoiding respiratory support.
Making a decision on ecMO, the method of the procedure, the principles of patient care on ECMO – will help to get an idea of this method of treating critical respiratory failure.
Clinical examples will help to consolidate the knowledge gained and introduce them into the practice of a young doctor.
