Course Description
Nail surgery is a new and rapidly developing area that is at the intersection of traumatology, orthopedics, plastic and reconstructive surgery.
The course helps doctors to revise the tactics of managing patients with pathology of the nail apparatus and master modern surgical techniques.
Students will learn how to:
- recognize subungual exostosis and differentiate it from other neoplasms;
- understand the indications for conservative and surgical treatment;
- understand in which cases the help of a surgeon is necessary for a podologist;
- avoid frequent errors in surgical treatment and in postoperative management of patients;
- perform plastic surgery of the periungual folds , taking into account the aesthetic result.
